Fall Class 2019
The Arts Center will be offering classes for both adults and youth in Fall 2019! In September, adults and upper youth can enjoy the return of wheel-throwing and drawing + painting classes! In October, youth can get ready for a new "Art in the Afternoon" program designed for students to engage in creative activities on School District 50 early release days! In November, youth and parents alike will be able to enjoy in creating clay ornaments TOGETHER as they get ready for the holiday season to begin! Clay Class | Wheel-Throwing (Adult)
September 6 - 27 (6 - 9 PM) | Ages 17+ | members: $130 / non-members: $160 - CLICK HERE TO PAY ONLINE
This class is designed for ADULT beginners with clay. Participants will complete 3 major projects. Instructor, Esperanza Landeros, will teach wheel-throwing techniques that include: centering, shaping, trimming, and decoration/glazing. Prior experience with clay not required. This class will meet every Friday night for 4 weeks. Additional studio time will be offered as an option during the duration of the class. Class will meet September 6, 13, 20 and 27 from 6:00 - 9:00 PM.
Art Class | Drawing + Painting (Youth)
September 10 - October 8 (4:30 - 6 PM) | ages 8+ | members: $150 / non-members: $200
This class will meet for five sessions, every Tuesday @ 4:30 - 6:00 pm September 10, 17, 24 and Oct 1, 8. The class is designed for ages 8 and up. Participants will build drawing skills while building a portfolio. Ms. Cherry Smith will be the instructor and is excited to provide this opportunity for students to advance in their drawing and painting techniques. Media will include: pencil, colored pencil and acrylic paint.
Clay Class | Hand-Building (Youth)
October 15 - November 19 (10 AM - 12 NOON) | ages 6 - 10 | members: $150 / non-members: $200
This class will meet for six sessions, every Tuesday @ 10:00 am - 12:00 noon October 15, 22, 29 and November 5, 12, 19. This class is designed for YOUTH (ages 6 -10). In this class, students will work towards completing four major projects in clay while learning hand-building skills and techniques. Prior experience with clay is not required.

Art in the Afternoon | Clay Ornament (Youth)

This event is designed for your child to have an engaging activity during School District 50 early release day. Students will engage in creating a one-of-kind hand-made ornament for the upcoming holiday season!
Art Workshops | Clay Ornament (Parent + Child)
November 16 + December 7 (10 - 11 AM) | 5+ | Admission: $20 per child / 3 ornaments
During this workshop, parents and children will create one of a kind clay ornaments together. Arts Center instructors will demonstrate techniques in clay and each participant will produce three, unique Christmas ornaments. Parents and children will delight in learning something new and have creative fun together!
